1. Complete and return the Metro Volleyball Officials Association application - Fee:  $77
   • POLICY
   • Returning Officials:  Additional $30 late fee if application is postmarked after May 1, 2008.
   • New Officials:  $77 fee is applicable regardless of the date.
2. NEW OFFICIALS -- Call the Minnesota State High School League at 763-560-2262 immediately to obtain registration material.
3. Complete the MSHSL registration.  (Mailed from the MSHSL office approximately May 1, 2008 must be returned by July 1, 2008 - first year officials can register later than July 1st and are not subject to a late fee)
4. Mandatory MSHSL rules interpretation meeting
   1. Possible ONLINE option for 2009
   2. If online option is not available, meetings have historically been held at the following sites:

5. Attend Metro Volleyball Officials Association Training Tournament (Burnsville) - August 9&10, 2008
6. Attend Metro Volleyball Officials Association Meeting (Hill Murray) - August 17, 2008
7. Complete and pass the MSHSL online test. Deadline Date: TBD
8. If you are going to apply for the State Tournament it must be done online by September 1, 2008.

This is a requirement for any official that has been member of Metro for 3 years or less, some veteran officials may be asked to attend as a refresher.  We will supply observers for each match who will help you with protocol, procedure and officiating.  You can expect to officiate at least 2 matches, one a 1st referee and the other as umpire.  This tournament offers a unique opportunity.  The teams represent High Schools from all over the state but NO COACHES!!  We have approximately 150 matches at our disposal for you to train, improve, or just warm up for the upcoming season.

Our responsibility to you is that we avail the best training for you that we possibly can.  Remember, we are striving for Confidence, Credibility and Consistency.

All officials are required to attend this meeting, which will last approximately 1 hour.  During this meeting we will be covering vital information regarding the association and upcoming season.   FINAL schedules will be distributed at this meeting.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  This meeting WILL satisfy the mandatory rules interpretation meeting required by the MSHSL.
