Procedures Information

Officiating Crew:

  • Each match will have a scheduled work team who is to provide an adult coach to R2, a scorer, a visual scorer, and two line judges

Arrival Time:

  • Ensure you are at your assigned location 30 minutes prior to your first match. If you are arriving mid-wave, you may want to arrive 45 minutes prior. Please ensure your replacement has arrived before you leave your court for a break.

Match Format:

  • POOL PLAY: All 3 team pools will play 3 sets to 25. These matches are highlighted in ORANGE on the grid.

  • POOL PLAY: All 4 team pools will play 2 sets only to 25 (NO DECIDING SET). These matches are WHITE on the grid.

  • BRACKET PLAY: All playoff matches will be best 2 out of 3 – 3rd set to 15, if necessary – no caps. These matches are highlighted in LIGHT GREEN on the grid.

Coin Toss:

Determine the serving team in a physically-distanced manner of your choosing. If you elect to flip a coin, or do paper-rock-scissors, please limit this to ONE representative from each team and maintain 6 feet of distance between all participants.

The normal 10 minute warm-up, using a 2-4-4 format will be used for both the 1st match of the day AND for ALL BRACKET PLAY MATCHES. The first two minutes will be for ball handling on each team's half of the court, followed by 4 minutes on the court for the serving team and then 4 minutes for the receiving team.

POOL PLAY WARMUPS MODIFICATION: If both teams played the match immediately prior to their current match, there will be 2 minutes of shared court warm-up time and then the match begins. If one team played the match prior, but the other team did not, there will be 2 minutes of shared court warm-up time followed by 4 minutes on the court for the team that did NOT play the match prior, then the match begins.

Modifications for 11s & 12s:

    • Net will be set at 7’0”

    • Molten VolleyLite ball will be used

    • Normal terms of service

    • Service line will be moved in 7’ from the end line.
