AAU Super Regional Information

Arrival Time: Ensure you are at your assigned location 30-40 minutes prior to your first match.

Match Format:

Payment/Contracts/Waivers:

  • TBD $30 per standard match (best 2 sets of 3), You will be paid directly by Northern Lights - NOT Metro

  • At your first Northern Lights assignment, you will need to fill out an independent contractor agreement for Northern Lights because they are paying you. Contracts will be given to you by the site director.

Officiating Crew:

  • Only R1s will be used. No R2s or LJs.

  • A team representative will keep score on a simple score-sheet and update the visual scoreboard.

  • OFFICIALS SHOULD WRITE THEIR NAME LEGIBLY ON EACH SCORE SHEET SO NORTHERN LIGHTS CAN VERIFY PAYROLL.

  • Select and measure a game ball from the cart of warm-up balls on your court.

  • Substitutions will occur normally with the R1 signaling and authorizing the sub to enter the court.

Rule Set & Modifications

  • USAV rules apply.

  • In Midwest Volleyball Warehouse, the divider curtains between courts and the beam supporting those curtains are out of bounds. The remainder of the ceiling is in bounds per USAV rules.

  • Normal adjacent court rules apply. Players may not enter the blue part of the court next to them before, during or after playing the ball.

COVID-19 Information:

  • Officials accepting assignments should be flexible and understanding of changes due to unforeseen circumstances caused by the pandemic.

  • An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death.

  • By visiting Midwest Volleyball Warehouse and participating in a Northern Lights event, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

  • Adhere to current CDC, MDH, and/or league/building guidelines regarding face coverings.

  • When entering, please be sure to identify yourself as an official to those taking admission and they will check your name off the pass list.

  • There is a room marked and available for officials in the playing facility area. Social distancing & mask wearing are required when using this room since 6 ft of social distancing is not able to be maintained. Please keep it tidy during the day and clean-up at the end of play.

  • Concessions will be sold. Outside food will be allowed for officials, but please be discreet when bringing in and consuming outside food in the building. Water fountains will be turned off, but bottle fillers remain on.

  • Northern Lights asks that any individual (player, coach, official, etc.) not attend Power League if they have experienced a positive COVID-19 test in the past 10 days and/or are actively showing symptoms of COVID-19.

Officials that apply to work this event can check for acceptance of their application by reviewing the placeholder assignments in Arbiter.

Actual court assignments are sent via email the week of the event. Please confirm with a reply indicating you are "Good to Go" after reviewing your schedule.
