General Information - 2022 Winter League starts January 4
All matches are played at the Apple Valley Community Center, 14603 Hayes Road, Apple Valley, MN
Arrive 15 minutes prior to match time.
Dress in professional, officiating attire: White polo & dark pants (black or navy).
The teams or custodian are responsible to set-up and take down the nets.
You are responsible for your own mask, hand sanitizer, whistle and flipping coin.
Payment will be $25 per match, including forfeited matches not known prior to arrival. If you officiate one match in a night your pay will be $36.
Report Scores: Fill out the form provided at the front desk and leave it with the attendant.
Subs: May be requested by calling or e-mailing Deb. Advanced notice is appreciated.
Match Format: 3 sets per match. ALL sets are played to 25 points, win by 2 with 27 point cap. Teams will not switch sides during their match.
Time Limit: 55 minutes to complete each match, teams may call one 30-second timeout per set. Please use the scoreboard clock and start the 55 minute timer at match time so that everyone is aware of the time limit and matches remain on time.
Roster: Teams must start with at least 4 players. For the FIRST match of the night, teams have a 10 minute grace to secure enough players before they forfeit set 1. After 15 minutes without 4 players, the team forfeits the match. For later matches, if a team doesn't have 4 players by match time, they forfeit set 1, after 5 minutes, they forfeit set 2, after 10 minutes, they forfeit set 3.
Apple Valley Parks & Recreation strives to make your experience as safe and fun as possible. All guidelines are subject to change based on what is best for the league and we will continue to evolve and adapt with new recommendations from the MDH, CDC, and State of Minnesota. As of August 26, 2021, there aren’t any state mandated COVID-19 related restrictions for adult athletic leagues. Officials accepting assignments should be flexible and understanding of changes due to unforeseen circumstances caused by the pandemic.
An official that has COVID-19 symptoms and/or tests positive should contact MVOA as soon as possible to remove themselves from the schedule.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event of inclement weather, officials should call the weather hotline after 5:00 p.m. at 952-953-2399 > Option #1: Weatherline > Option #1: Adult Athletics. If matches are cancelled, they may be re-scheduled at the end of the regular season, prior to play-offs, time permitting.
