A reminder, your application is NOT a guarantee of assignment.
YOU are responsible for ensuring you have submitted all required paperwork listed in each of the 4 sections on our Independent Contractor page. Assignments and payments are contingent on the completion of these requirements.
Selected officials will be offered assignments through ArbiterSports. You may check the status of assignment by reviewing your SCHEDULE tab in Arbiter.
Actual court assignments are sent via email the Tuesday prior to the event. Please confirm with a reply to that email indicating you are "Good to Go" after reviewing your schedule within 24 hours. Final schedules are sent via email the Friday before the event and do not require a reply.
Brad is the primary assignor for the Shakopee Dig Tournaments.
If your schedule changes while onsite, ensure that the MVOA Contact listed on the bottom of your court assignment grid is immediately made aware and send your updated match count to Schedules@MetroVolleyball.com following your last match of the day.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Payment:
Normal 2 out of 3 matches are $30-$33, Mandatory 3 set matches are $44. See Arbiter for tiered match fee matrix.
If you do not work as scheduled (more or less matches!) you must email Robyn immediately after the event so we can ensure payments are made correctly to all officials.
Arrival Time:
Ensure you are at your assigned location 30 minutes prior to your first match.
If you are arriving mid-wave, you may want to arrive earlier or get the cell number of the person on your court before you to let you know if your court is running ahead of schedule. Check on your court upon arrival in case you need to start right away.
Site Management:
Officials are expected to treat site managers with respect and politely consult them if there is a court issue.
Keep your court on time by calling captains for the coin toss as soon as the previous match concludes and start warmups immediately.
The event provides a room for officials to use during the breaks and provides water & snacks. Be sure to thank them for their hospitality.
Rule Set & Modifications
USAV rules apply
Libero Jerseys: All will be acceptable with the only exception of an identical uniform to her teammates.
11/12U Spring Dig: Pool Play cap 5 points by the server, then serving team must rotate. Bracket Play = NO CAP
Match Format:
All pool and playoff matches will be best 2 of 3 rally score sets. The first two sets will be 25 points, no cap, win by two points. The third set, if required, will be a set to 15, no cap, win by two points.
Teams will not switch sides at any point during the match.
Coin Toss:
Assign 'heads' to one side and 'tails' to the other when performing the coin toss. The winner of the coin toss will choose serve, side or receive.
If a 3rd set is necessary, the a team representative(s) will meet with the R1 near the score table for a coin toss, the winner will choose serve or receive.
Teams will NOT switch sides at any time during the match.
Officiating Crew:
R1s will be assigned by MVOA.
Teams will provide the remaining crew members (R2, Line Judges, Score table staff).
R2s will be the coach from the working team.
Warm-up:
A 10 minute warm-up, using a 2-4-4 format will be used for ALL matches..
The first two minutes will be for shared court/ball handling, followed by 4 minutes on the court for the serving team and then 4 minutes for the receiving team.
