RULES FOR NON-DECIDING THIRD SETS
If the match has been decided in two sets (i.e. Team A wins 2-0) AND there are 10 minutes or more remaining before the next scheduled match time, a non-deciding third set WILL be played:
Signal from the ref stand to the scoreboard operator how many minutes to put on the clock so that it runs out on the hour OR the 1⁄2 hour (the next scheduled match time).
There is no lineup. There is no coin flip. There is no side change. The Serving team is the team that served in set 1.
The officiating crew still officiates. The running score is kept, but no scoresheet. Score of third set is NOT entered into results.
Set is played until time runs out or 15 points. Then immediately start the 10 minute warmup for next match.
Example 1: Team A wins the 8:00AM match 2-0. The next match is scheduled for 9:00AM and the current time is 8:48AM.
