Facility & Parking Information
There is a room on the upper level across from Court 3 that is marked and available for officials. Officials should NOT be in the coaches room on the lower level. Please keep the room tidy during the day and clean-up your space before you leave. No outside food or beverage is allowed at this site, so please be discreet with the items you bring to the officials room.
No need to adjust net heights, the MVW staff takes care of this.
MN Select Volleyball Center (MNS)

Facility & Parking Information
When entering, there will be a door/room immediately to the left for coaches and officials. It is shared space, so please be tidy and allow space for everyone.
No need to adjust net heights, the MVW staff takes care of this.
M1 Volleyball (M1)
1701 W 94th St, #300, Bloomington, MN 55431
When entering, immediately turn to the left and walk through the lobby area filled with tables and chairs. At the end you’ll see a door with “M1 Coaches/Staff Only on it. This is the shared space for officials and coaches to leave their jackets/boots/etc. during the day.
No need to adjust net heights, they are set as they are.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Payment:
Molten Series: $30 per match | Molten Cup $35 per match
If you do not work as scheduled (more or less matches!) please email/call Robyn immediately after the event so we can ensure payments are made correctly to all officials.
Arrival Time:
Ensure you are at your assigned location 30 minutes prior to your first match and court-side at least 15 minutes prior to match start time.
If you are arriving mid-wave, your court may be running ahead of schedule. Check on your court IMMEDIATLY upon arrival.
Site Management:
Molten Series sites are run by the host club and they will keep the courts running on time.
Officials are expected to treat site managers with respect and politely consult with them if there is a court issue.
Keep your court on time by calling captains for the coin toss as soon as the previous match concludes and start warmups immediately.
Concessions may be available at the event venues.
Officials will be allowed to bring in personal coolers/lunch boxes.
Facilities will have bottle fillers operable. Please come prepared with any food/water you need.
Rule Set & Modifications:
USAV Rules apply.
Libero Jerseys: All will be acceptable with the only exception of an identical uniform to her teammates.
JVA Modification: Teams may change libero(s) EVERY set, even if 2 are selected at the start of the match.
Molten Series Modification: Know the age group for BOTH playing teams. If BOTH teams are 12U-14U, then CLARIFY WITH COACHES PRE-MATCH that by rule, you will be allowing a re-toss unless both teams would rather not. If ONE team is 12U-14U and the other is U15-18, the re-toss rule will NOT apply.
Match Format:
All matches are best 2 of 3 sets. The 3rd set is only played if the teams split the first two sets.
Each bracket will have a mix of age groups because the league is matched-up by strength, not by age.
Teams will NOT switch sides during the match.
Team handshakes and not required, teams may choose to wave pre/post match.
Coin Toss:
A team representative(s) from each team and the R1 will conduct a coin toss.
Assign 'heads' to one side and 'tails' to the other when performing the coin toss. The winner of the coin toss will choose serve, side or receive.
If a 3rd set is necessary, the a team representative(s) will meet with the R1 at center court for a coin toss, the winner will choose serve or receive.
Teams will NOT switch sides during the match.
Warm-up:
A 10 minute warm-up, using a 2-4-4 format will be used for ALL matches.
The first match of each wave will start at the scheduled time. Subsequent matches may be accelerated.
The first 4 minutes on the court for the serving team and then 4 minutes for the receiving team.
Officiating Crew:
R1s will be assigned by MVOA.
Teams will provide the remaining crew members (R2, Line Judges, Score table staff).
IF both playing teams agree, a player may be the R2. Otherwise a coach will be the R2. If it is agreed that a player will R2, a work team coach must be at the scorer’s table for the match.
ASSIGNMENTS
Selected officials will be offered assignments through ArbiterSports. You may check the status of assignment by reviewing your SCHEDULE tab in Arbiter.
Actual court assignments are sent via email usually the Tuesday prior to the event. Please confirm with a reply to that email indicating you are "Good to Go" after reviewing your schedule. Final schedules are sent via email the Friday before the event.

If your schedule changes while onsite, please contact Robyn with your updated match count by the next morning.
