DETAILS ON THIS PAGE HAVE NOT BEEN FINALIZED FOR THE 2023 EVENT

Officiating Crew:

  • Each match will have a scheduled work team who is to provide an R2 (may be player or coach...if player, the coach must be by the score table the entire match to assist), scorer, libero tracker, visual scorer, and two line judges

Arrival Time:

  • Ensure you are at your assigned location 30 minutes prior to your first match. If you are arriving mid-wave, you may want to arrive 45 minutes prior. Please ensure your replacement has arrived before you leave your court for a break.

Match Format:

  • Standard Match format is best 2 out of 3 – 3rd set to 15, if necessary – no cap on any set

  • If your assignment is in teal and there is a "(3)" after your name, that indicates a Mandatory 3 Sets to 25 Match format where you will play all 3 sets to 25 regardless of who wins the first 2 sets.

Coin Toss:

  • Conduct the coin toss by ASSIGNING one of the team as “heads” and the other team as “tails.”

  • Flip the coin in the air, catch it WITHOUT flipping it over between your hands and show the result.

  • Give the winner of the coin toss the choice of “serve, side or receive”. Give the other team the remaining choice.

  • Teams will NOT switch sides at any time after the match begins

Warmups:

The normal 10 minute warm-up, using a 2-4-4 format will be used for a teams 1st match of the day AND for ALL BRACKET PLAY MATCHES. The first two minutes will be for ball handling on each team's half of the court, followed by 4 minutes on the court for the serving team and then 4 minutes for the receiving team.

During POOL PLAY, if both teams have already played, warm-ups are 5 minutes in length (1-2-2).

On the Schedule Grid with officials names listed, Pool play is on the left side of the gray dividing line and bracket play is on the right of that line (around 2:00, 2:30).

Modifications for 11/12s Division:

    • Net will be set at 7’0”

    • Molten VolleyLite ball will be used

    • Normal terms of service

    • Service line will be moved in 7’ from the end line.

COVID-19 Requirements and Expectations:

NCR will follow any CDC, Department of Health for Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota (depending on where the site is located) and/or facility mandates and requirements in place in order to maintain the safety of all tournament attendees.

Other expectations include:

  • There are no spectator limits in place - however, NCR reserves the right to update this policy if facility capacities or current mandates change.

  • Spectators are encouraged to socially distance from individuals not in your party.

  • Depending on facility policies, concessions may be offered.

  • NCR will provide game balls for each court per match; participating teams should provide their own warm-up balls.

  • Standard work teams assignments will be in place.

  • There will be no switching sides during a match.

  • If an individual attends an event, it is assumed that they are not sick.

Hotel/Lodging:

Those of you traveling to the North Dakota and South Dakota locations and opted to share a hotel room, those reservations have been made and you will receive hotel information & confirmation #s from Robyn the week of the event. Those of you that chose a private room, should have made those reservations already and sent the receipt to Beth@ncrusav.org for partial reimbursement. Hotel reimbursements will come directly from NCR (NOT MVOA).
