  • There are 2 main applications for the juniors season - be sure to fill them both out if you're looking to work the weekly leagues AND the major tournaments.

  • Do you need a hotel? Discounted hotel rates can be requested through Debbie for our major tournaments and ALL Rochester tournaments. If you need a room for Feb 6-7 Smackfest in the Twin Cities, you should contact Debbie no later than Wed, Jan 20.

  • Do you have your schedule link? MVOA updates assignment statuses for officials that apply to our events and this status can be viewed on your personal schedule sheet. If you need your link to your personal schedule sheet resent to you, please contact Debbie.

  • COVID-19 Update (Jan 5) - Governor Walz & the MDH have released additional guidance regarding youth & adult competitions. Please review these updates so you are informed as to what is required when games are allowed to resume on January 14.

  • MN does have some travel considerations in place that may affect our out-of-state officials. While we would love to have you join us, these recommendations may steer you to look for more regional options.

What We're Working On:

  • January 23-24 - Frostbite II, Rochester: Final grids will be sent Friday, Jan 22. Review the Frostbite page to prepare for your assignment.

  • January 23-24 - Molten & Crossfire: There have been many changes since draft grids were initially sent. Final grids will be sent Friday, Jan 22. Review the Molten Series & Crossfire pages to prepare for your assignment.

  • Big City Luau (Jan 30-31): This year's event is going to have fewer courts & locations than in past years and we have limited need for out-of-region officials. We will post additional updates as we receive them from the event on the Big City Luau page.

  • Presidents Day (Feb 6-7): We are actively looking for additional officials to work the multiple events we have this weekend. Please submit a Major Tournaments application to let us know your availability.

  • Presidents Day (Feb 13-14): We are actively looking for additional officials to work this larger of the two NorthStar President's Day tournament. Please submit a Major Tournaments application to let us know your availability.

Big City Luau & NorthStar President's Day

The 2021 Big City Luau, & NorthStar President's Day Challenge events will be assigned by Metro.

Crossfire, Molten Series & Northern Lights Power Leagues

Metro is pleased to welcome Crossfire to our growing list of partners. Crossfire will have playdates and tournaments running throughout the season at both their Champlin location and Hope Fieldhouse in Rosemount.

The 2021 Molten Series, Molten Cup & Northern Lights Power League will be assigned by Metro.

National Volleyball Center - Rochester

The 2021 Rochester Youth Volleyball Association & National Volleyball Center Tournaments will be assigned by Metro.

North Country Region (USA Volleyball) Events

The 2021 Kings/Queens Event scheduled for January 2, 2021 has been cancelled due to the governor's executive order regarding return to play guidelines for youth and adult sports.

NCR's Presidents Day Smackfest, Area Championships and Region Championships will be assigned by Metro.

Applicants that are USA Volleyball certified will be considered for assignment.

Lakeville Juniors Volleyball has partnered with Metro Volleyball to provide officials for their 2021 tournament at Lakeville South High School.

Parks & Rec Volleyball Winter 2021

Plans for Winter Park & Rec are currently pending word from the MN Governor on youth and adult sports restrictions. We are currently on a 4 week pause ending December 21. We will start making preliminary schedules and then finalize when we know how many courts and thus officials, will be needed.

League-specific information and a link to submit your application can be found under the Parks & Rec drop-down menu. Applicants should be able to fully comply with all guidance and requirements concerning COVID-19 provided by the CDC, MDH, and the leagues concerning protection and promotion of the health and safety of yourself and others.

The Prep Dig Minneapolis Meltdown tournament in 2021 will be assigned by MVOA.

MN Boys High School Volleyball

Metro Volleyball is proud to continue supporting the MN High School Volleyball Association by providing officials for their fourth season during the spring of 2021.

Detailed information for the 2021 season will be posted on the Boys High School page along with a link to the application to officiate those events when available.

This is an OPTIONAL payment method, those not using Venmo will receive payments the old-fashioned way via mailed check.

MSHSL Girls Volleyball Abrupt Season Ending

MVOA sends our sincere thanks to all of the officials that went above and beyond to provide officiating services for the MSHSL volleyball teams this Fall.

We also appreciate and recognize the dedication and cooperation of the athletic directors and conference/section coordinators this season and look forward to working with you again next fall.
